Welcome to SigNet - the Mail Network with that Down Home Flavor!
Dear Sysop, if you already know about SigNet or are comtemplating adding a
nice "down home" flavored mail network to cater to your local users, or you
simply want to learn the mechanics of echo-mail, then please read the
following offer...
SigNet has been around since 1991 (in one form or another) and has captured
the essence of family type tele-computing for fun and computer education.
It has 36 interesting conference areas which appeal to both kids and adults,
and is easy to network by any Sysop who knows how to use an automated comm
program and simple mail tosser. It can be passed using QWK packet echo-mail
techniques or with Fido technology (FTS). QWK packet networking is simple,
fast and inexpensive. Shareware programs are available which make the job
pleasurable and exciting. If you are already in Fido, or have to ability to
configure your software for FTS, you can use this technology to echo SigNet
mail. The method of transmission is left up to you.
Networking your BBS is the ultimate in tele-computing and makes your board
a "cut above" the the stand-alone BBS. Join the exciting world of echo-mail
by linking your system to others, either around the corner or in another
city or state. SigNet gives your BBS a whole new dimension and will increase
your user base even if you have been just "slipping by" trying to keep your
board alive. For established boards, Signet offers advantages which other
nets lack. That is the compact size, the homey atmosphere and the friendly
attitude of the people who already frequent the net. It is truly a "people"
person's net.
So, if you are looking for a small but active mail network, that is easy to
echo and is appealing to your users, or you simply want to learn about echo-
mail, read the attached InfoPak text files and fill out the enclosed appli-
cation today! Then call one of the following boards and leave a comment to
the Sysop with your application information. You won't regret it!
